UT Randomness
OK. I really don't like UT, but there are certain
things about it that make it amusing:
-
Some UnrealI stuff - Specifically, some
screenshots and an installer for Linux.
-
AcidUT (150k) - Instructions come in
the package.
If you want to see some, there are some screenshots here, but they don't really
do it justice
-
AAUT - It's not big, and it's not clever
-
UTetris (536k) - This is a tarball of
what you can download from the mutation
device. Yes, the secret theme _is_ worth trying for. Just "cd
~/.loki/ut ; bzip2 -cd utetris.tar.bz2 | tar -xf -". I untarball it into
/usr/local/games/ut, but you may not want to do that.
-
DM-Deck32][ (348k) - Far and away the
funkiest map there is for UT.
-
OpenUT-2002-02-28.tar.bz2 (212k)
- For the brave, here's the OpenUT source as it was in CVS during loki's
CVS death throes. If you try to compile AcidUT, you'll find there's a
missing ';'. My attention to detail is amazing.
-
For reference, if you need an example
config file suitable for high-end-ish cards & machines, here's mine.
-
Quick hack: OpenGLDrv.int; drop this into
/usr/local/games/ut/System/, and you won't see nasty internal symbols in
your prefs when you're using OpenGL.
-
Another quick hack: ut-splash.tar.gz;
backup /usr/local/games/ut/ut, then "cd /usr/local/games;gzip -cd
ut-splash.tar.gz | tar -xf -". Adds a splash screen to UT that includes
bonus penguin. Yes, this is where I got the splash for UnrealI from. To
uninstall, simply replace /usr/local/games/ut/ut with the backed up one.
